YOUR ISLAND

ADVENTURE

starts here

With your rental vehicle, every corner of Bocas del Toro is yours to explore.

Pristine beaches, Caribbean charm, and wild nature — all connected by a single road

BLUFF BEACH

Wild nature and World-class Waves

Playa Bluff stretches over 7 kilometers of golden sand and is one of the most spectacular beaches in Panama. Its powerful waves are a magnet for surfers from around the world, offering perfect tubes and both left and right breaks that cater to all levels.

But Bluff is much more than adrenaline. Declared a Municipal Reserve in 1999, it is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sanctuaries in the region: leatherback, hawksbill, and green turtles come ashore here to nest between March and October. As you walk along the shoreline, howler monkeys can be heard from the jungle, and sloths are often spotted hanging in the trees.

Extreme caution is advised regarding currents during wave season.

PAUNCH BEACH

A Caribbean Surf Paradise

Just a ten-minute drive from Bocas Town, Paunch Beach is known for its surf and its beautiful stretches of white sand with surprisingly calm waters, offering privileged views of Isla Colón and Isla Carenero in the distance.

It is the ideal break for beginners looking to learn how to surf, while the more powerful waves in the area known as Dumpers are suitable only for experienced surfers. The waves break both left and right and vary in size, making it a perfect destination for all skill levels. The water is warm, clean, and crystal clear — a place where the Panamanian Caribbean reveals all of its energy.

STARFISH BEACH

The Starfish Sanctuary

Located on the northern tip of Isla Colón, Bocas del Drago is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful beach day, snorkeling, fresh seafood, and the purest Caribbean atmosphere. Far from the bustle of Bocas Town, its calm waters, palm trees, and relaxed vibe make it one of the island’s most special spots.

A short coastal walk leads to Starfish Beach, famous for its shallow turquoise waters and the starfish that inhabit its shoreline. Protected from waves and ideal for swimming and relaxing, it is one of the most beautiful and delicate natural corners of the archipelago. Remember to respect the marine life: do not touch the starfish or remove them from the water.

BOCAS TOWN

The heart of the archipelago

Bocas Town is the capital and main town of the Bocas del Toro islands, with a history shaped by Afro-Caribbean heritage, Indigenous culture, and American influence. Despite being the heart of the archipelago, it still preserves the charm and human scale of a small Caribbean town where everything is within easy reach.

Life revolves around its main streets, where hotels, restaurants, and tour operators blend naturally with Parque Simón Bolívar — the town’s central meeting point, where local artisans sell handmade crafts and traditional food. After a day exploring the island, there’s no better way to end it than returning to town for a seaside dinner while enjoying the laid-back atmosphere only the Caribbean can offer.
